COGPAC Breakfast Meeting with Ambassador Alima Mahama

A 12-member COGPAC delegation led by the President, Bishop(Dr) Evans Glover, joined Her Excellency Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States of America for a Breakfast Meeting at the Embassy in Washington DC on Thursday, February 10, 2022. In attendance were Heads of Department of the Mission. The breakfast meeting, the first of series of such meetings lined up by the Council was aimed at updating the Ambassador on the activities of the Council since its inauguration on October 30, 2021.

Briefing the Ambassador by the General Secretary of the Council, Ps James Asiedu-Pani also highlighted on plans by COGPAC to organize a non-denomination thanksgiving service as part of the celebration of Ghana’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

Her Excellency accepted the invitation as the Special Guest of Honour at the Service. In her remarks after the brief presentation, the H.E Alima Mahama was full of praise and commendation to the Council for it’s proactive and patriotic gestures. She took the opportunity to update the COGPAC delegation on salient happenings in Ghana and requested the Council to offer intercessory prayers for the peace and stability of Ghana, following the resurgence of turbulent coup d’etats in the sub-region.

The meeting was very fruitful and interactions were very cordial among the parties. A minute’s silence was observed in memory of the Late Pastor (Mrs) Jennifer Opoku-Asare, Esq, a committed member of the Council who has passed and due to be buried on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
